Kobe specifies EVERYTHING: low-sone sound ratings, stainless steel composition, 18 gauge metal thickness, and ACTUAL real-world cubic foot per minute CFM ratings. Hoods are sound and performance tested under installed conditions with two meters of vent pipe, simulating a typical kitchen layout. Some appliance manufacturers quote misleading CFM Blower Ratings, not bothering to adjust for the CFM Performance drop once that blower is installed in their hood body and exhaust air is forced through baffle filters and out the vent pipe. An inflated 1000 CFM Blower Rating can easily translate to less than 800 CFM Performance Rating. All Kobe hoods are tested to industry standards under real-world installed conditions for a true performance rating. The industry standard for gas cooktops is ~6 CFM of exhaust performance per 1000btu of stovetop burner maximum. For example: a six burner gas range with 15,000btu each burner on the cooktop, equals 90,000btu total times 6 CFM equals a recommended 540 CFM performance rating. The rule of thumb for professional-duty hoods is at least 600 CFM when mounted the standard +/- 30 inches off cooktop. To put 750 CFM in perspective... it would only take 2 minutes to pull ALL the air out of your average 200 square foot kitchen. Kobe Range Hoods are designed and manufactured by Tosho & Company, Ltd., their Japanese parent company. Tosho & Company, Ltd. has been in the business of selling quality merchandise in Japan and globally since 1966 with such diverse products as machinery parts, luxury automobiles, cleaning supplies for the maintenance industry and, of course, stainless steel range hoods. Kobe has been selling into the United States and Canada for well over sisteen years now and their goal has always been to design stainless steel range hoods that are not only functional, but stylish and economical. The result of their extensive research and development is a series of brushed finish seamless stainless steel range hoods that are commercial quality, elegant, powerful and QUIET. Kobe products are CSA certified 221547 to standards 3812-01 for Canada and Class 3821-81 for the U.S. This CSA standard meets the requirements of the ANSI/UL 507/705/710 Standard for Electric Fans certification, but Kobe products are not Certified for Commercial Cooking under UL710. Kobe only supplies Residential range hoods with none of the Kobe certified for commercial restauraunt use. Metric measurements are rounded off for inch dimensional reference here, so always consult individual product specification sheets for exact sizing, which is often about a quarter inch less at about: 29-3/4, 35-3/4, 41-3/4, and 47-3/4 inch wide to allow ease of installation between cabinets.

A word about stainless steel kitchen appliances

Three main stainless steel material concerns, when shopping for a kitchen hood, are material thickness, seamless construction and commercial grade. The two main grades (series) used in kitchen appliances are #304 and #430 stainless steel. Series 430 is the most commonly used stainless steel since it curves and molds better to unique shapes, not just straight-flat metal bends. Both 304 and 430 have relatively the same rust resistance, in that you would not notice any appearance or performance difference on a range hood this sturdy. Series 304 stainless steel is more difficult to work with, due in part to its higher carbon and lower iron content. Both have nearly identical chromium content with 430SS at 16% to 18% and 304SS at 18% to 20%. Gauge is a relative measure of thickness and all Kobe hoods use the thickest, 18 gauge seamless stainless steel. Cheaper brands of kitchen hood use as thin as 22, 23, or even something as pathetic as 24 gauge steel. Seamless construction is standard practice on all Kobe hoods with finely polished welds for a clean, seamless appearance. Cheaper brands rivet several body panels together, allowing moisture, grease and grime to infiltrate and accumulate in the cracks. Do your research and you will soon see the quality, value and performance advantages of Kobe Range Hoods. Use only stainless steel spray cleaners (or WD-40) and do not leave them on the surface for too long. Do not spray the control panel or get it wet. Avoid gritty cleansers, salt solutions, disinfectants, bleaches, or other harsh cleaning chemicals. Use clean, soft, lint-free fabric towels and always rub with the grain, never across the grain. This is very important... rubbing in a circular motion or across the grain of stainless steel will blemish the surface.

The majority of people only use their hood for occasional excessive steam, odor, smoke or grease because their existing hood is too loud to run all the time while cooking. Kobe stainless steel range hoods, with their QuietMode™ feature, are quiet enough to operate continuously AND leave on for a while afterwards to remove residual cooktop heat. As their motto says: QuietMode™ is: "So Quiet, You Won't Believe It's On!" Kobe features multiple speed fan control on all models, so you can get the performance you want, when you need it. Beware of range manufacturer claims that you need a 1000+CFM (cubic feet per minute) hood for any stove - it's a marketing ploy to sell their "commercial" hood with the range. Understanding quality vent hood filter systems

As you shop around for a kitchen hood, you need to pay close attention to what happens with the grease. There is an excellent reason why we only retail Kobe hoods - they are engineered to WORK properly. Cheap hoods cut many corners, one of which is to install a flimsy set of aluminum mesh screens, in effect allowing heated grease in the filter to drip back onto the stovetop. Without proper filtration, excessive grease and moisture finds its way into your vent pipe and out onto the roof or wall of your home. You will never see cheap aluminum mesh filters in a restaurant for one very good reason - grease dripping back down onto the stove top is dangerous. Kobe addresses the grease filtering/catching issue with centrifugal grease catchment and/or classic commercial style stainless steel baffle filters. The vertical mounted, twin turbine fans on some Kobe models creates an upside-down tornado effect, which is very effective for large single-dish asian wok cooking and paella. Very effective grease capture inside of the blower, where oil and water laden air is hurled against the fan housing, causing it to condense and drip down into the baffle filters or grease catchment cups. Grease catchment cups are small top-rack dishwasher safe trays mounted behind the cone shaped air intakes you see on some models. Normally, one does not clean the internal, mechanical parts of a kitchen hood, only the exposed exterior, body and removable filters, but it is possible with a centrifugal fan. Remove screen or baffle filters, spray degreaser solution directly into the blowers, re-install the filters, allow to soak for a time and then turn onto lowest speed. Degreaser will drain through system, providing a flush into the catchment cups or baffle filters. Follow traditional appliance safety precautions: turn off power to device when working internally, keep your hands clear when power is on, and protect your face and eyes from exposure to cleaning chemicals. Baffle filters are a series of inverted U shaped "baffle-troughs" that cool greasy air as it flows though, condensing moisture and oil on the upper baffles and flowing down into the lower troughs where it is held until cleaned. The commercial look in residential kitchens has created a very high demand for baffle filters - especially over high output gas cooktops where extreme heat and flame are present. The extra expanse of stainless steel underneath does make for a more professional, industrial appearance, lending a more restaurant commercial feel to any kitchen design. Performance wise, baffle filters with a squirrel cage fan (versus centrifugal turbine) traps a bit less grease, but the difference is likely too slight to consider as a factor in your choice of model. Many clients see the baffle filters as an advantage when cleaning as they are top-rack dishwaser safe. One can slip the baffle filters out of the hood and wash separately, instead of degreasing the whole bottom of the hood body.

Dampers (back draft preventers) are provided with all Premium Series Kobe range hoods, but best practice is to remove that back draft damper from the hood body. Round back draft preventers (when desired by client) are best installed at the vent cap (terminus) where they can be easily cleaned and are more effective. Dampers are standard practice in climates where clients worry that back-draft of air (cold or hot) down the vent pipe will increase heating and cooling costs. And for clients that are concerned about odor from back-drafting down vent pipe. The most common type of damper is the "flapper" style used on dryer vents. It is considered an engineering weakness to install dampers directly above the fan where they are extremely inconvenient to replace and impossible to clean regularly. At best, dirty dampers restrict air flow... at worst, corrosion and grease buildup eventually renders them inoperable. Quite important to keep them well maintained and oiled with WD-40, especially any metal springs and hinges. Common practice for energy efficiency is to attach from vent pipe to roof/wall terminus with a flexible rubber 'boot' coupler. Does not have to be a Fernco® or pre-made coupler. Two hose clamps and a length of durable rubber mat will break thermal energy contact between metal of vent pipe and metal or plastic terminus. Insulating the metal vent pipe as it passes through your attic is suggested to further stop heat and cold transference, down into hood body. We do not sell vent pipe, caps, dampers, or related ductwork fittings since they are so commonly available at any local plumbing supply store.

Sizing and placement of residential kitchen range hoods

The majority of clients purchase the same width hood as the range top, but designers are increasingly pairing larger hoods with smaller ovens. The extra expanse of hood canopy area provides better performance at low speeds and lends a more professional flare to your kitchen design. Smoke and steam plume, spreading out as they come off the cooktop, so installing a wider hood makes perfect functional sense, allowing lower fan speeds to be more effective at capturing exhausted air. A good rule of thumb for any gas or electric range is bare minimum 50CFM per square foot of cooktop. Thus, a 3 foot wide by 2 foot deep rangetop requires at least a 300CFM hood and all non-recirculating Kobe hoods are 600+CFM at top speed. Residential hoods are traditionally 19 to 22 inch depth (front to back) to allow leaning over the stove without the front of the hood getting in your way and are placed 26 to 30 inches off range top for best exhaust function. As you move much farther away than about 30 inches from the cooktop, the hood is required to run on increasingly higher speeds to provide the same performance level. Kobe offers a few 24 inch depth professional-duty UL710 range hoods designed for more 'industrial' residential installations, mounting 30 to 36 inches off the cooktop. Mounted much less than 30 inches off the cooktop, a 24 inch depth hood will tend to interfere with your mobility on the burners. Always best to take some cardboard and create a model mock-up of the hood as it is installed to ensure you don't end up bumping into it when you lean in to attend to pots on the back burners. As a general rule of thumb 600CFM to 800CFM blowers are more than adequate when placed at the proper 26 to 30 inch distance from cooktop and will be much quieter, since the range hood can function well on lower fan speeds.

There are two types of blower assemblies used in the Kobe hood line: horizontal squirrel cage and centrifugal. Centrifugal blowers are turbine-style like jet airplane engines and installed in pairs. The other is either a single or double squirrel cage mounted to one or either side of a single horizontal shaft on motor. Both are capable of maintaining professional-duty performance with minimal noise. Where room in the body permits, squirrel cage blowers are typically used. Newest generation SQB-1 series hoods feature a very long-lasting LED light bulb assembly (bulbs are not covered under warranty). Older model Kobe had halogen lights with installation manuals providing detailed instructions on light bulb replacement. Some manuals mentioned an 'applicator' for the glass lens of light fixture. This 'applicator' is simply a small suction cup to allow safe handling of glass lens without cutting yourself. Not really a special tool... the same effect can be had with a small refrigerator-hook suction cup or piece of tape. NEVER touch a halogen light bulb itself with your bare hands or skin oils may cause these hot-temperature bulbs to shatter when they heat up. Don't touch the bulb with anything but a clean and dry towel and please don't cut yourself on the glass lens inside the light fixture - it may not look sharp, but it is.

General rules of thumb for venting kitchen exhaust hoods

All Kobe hoods include at least one fan motor so they do not require any additional parts for installation. The client does provide their own vent pipe and terminus on roof or outer wall (see notes above). Since building codes vary from one town to the next, we do not sell vent pipe or terminus parts - you can find these fittings at your local plumbing supply store. Unless local code requires otherwise, install standard single wall galvanized vent pipe, which is thinner than comparable wood stove vent pipe. While corrugated "flex" pipe may be cheaper and easier to bend, it tends to trap grease (impossible to clean) and is not as reliable (easy to tear holes). Common practice for energy efficiency is to attach from vent pipe to roof/wall terminus with a flexible rubber 'boot' coupler. Rubber boot couplers are basically a piece of rubber that wraps around pipe and installs with two hose clamps, breaking thermal energy contact between metal of vent pipe and metal of roof terminus. Insulating the metal vent pipe as it passes through your attic is suggested to further stop heat & cold transference down into hood body. All wall mount Kobe hoods utilize three sided adjustable duct covers (side facing wall is open), which allow you to install a 90 degree bend in the vent pipe and go straight out the wall the hood is mounted upon. Five Kobe models CH22 SQ-1, CH22 SQB-1, CH91 SQB-1, CH27 SQB-1 and CH77 SQB-1 are unique in that they feature a 3-1/4" by 10" rectangular vent knockout on the top AND the back. Top round 6 inch diameter vent pipe is best practice for new installations, but remodels sometimes require the rectangular pipe. Location of the 3-1/4 by 10 inch rear knockout is: centered on hood width and about one inch from top of hood body to top of the 3-1/4 by 10 inch knockout. Note that rectangular venting is fine for short distances and often found in remodels, but round kitchen hood vent pipes are much easier to clean and generally have better aerodynamics. In homes where straight vertical (up through the roof) venting is not possible, it is best to install a series of 45 degree bends. When forced to install right angle bends, avoid placing the first 90 within two feet of fan, avoid using more than two 90s, and avoid horizontal runs greater than twenty five feet. To do otherwise, cuts down on the efficiency of any fan, from any kitchen hood manufacturer. Lowered efficiency (less cubic feet per minute CFM) is a function of aerodynamic drag in the pipe - backpressure from bends and horizontal runs force the fan to work harder for the same CFM. And no, we do not have any estimate of the amount of CFM loss per bend or run, but we will add that information as soon as we can authenticate it. In the end, you make due with what you have to work with in the home... any hood from any manufacturer is going to have the exact same aerodynamic limitations.

Japanese engineering shines with single and twin squirrel cage fans for longevity. Double squirrel cages on each side of shaft/axle maintains balance and helps prevents premature bearing failure when there is room. Only the RA028 and RA038 low-profile hoods have a single squirrel cage due to limmited space in the vent stack. Other models feature updated vertically mounted twin turbine fans for centrifugal filtration - an advanced, low energy high efficiency approach. While some manufacturers have a single fan system for all of their hoods, Kobe engineers the fan system to match the needs of the hood body. Tight construction, quiet blowers, seamless stainless steel, and very functional, easy to clean grease filtration systems make the Kobe line unique. You won't see non-functional, cheap aluminum mesh filters or pathetic bladed fans on a Kobe. How to install vent hoods on sloped, cathedral, and high ceilings

It is unique to see a stainless steel duct cover extend all the way up to the face of an angled ceiling - or much past ten feet (floor to ceiling height). Cathedral sloped and tall ceilings traditionally have a wood frame 'chaseway' box that 'hangs down' for level/horizontal mounting surface for top of hood duct cover. Designers use chaseways as architectural Focus for the entire room, if not the entire house as your guests view it. Covered with stone, glass, ceiling tin, paneled or tiled, or just drywall, your vent pipe extends on through the center of the chaseway. Unless you are shooting for an industrial look, a stainless steel 'finger' unmitigated from floor to 12 foot ceiling can be an over-powering 'eye magnet'. Smaller chaseways (single 2by4 frame) are wood trimmed to match the rest of the room and/or cabinets. Do you need an economical means to extend a too-short duct cover just six inches or more? Surround the top of your duct cover with decorative wood trim, tile or molding to hide any gap.

Latest generation SQB-1 series Kobe hoods feature a longer-lasting LED light bulb assembly. Older model Kobe SQ and SQB series hoods used G4 bi-pin base halogen 20 watt 12 volt 'capsule bulbs'. We do not sell any light bulbs since they are easily sourced online for less than one dollar apiece in quantity. Only two much older Kobe hood models used the larger GU10 halogen bulb standard. LED G4 and GU10 bi-pin base bulbs are available for retrofit but they tend to be very low light output when small enough to fit the socket. Installation manuals provide detailed instructions on light bulb replacement. NEVER touch the light bulb glass with your bare hands since skin oils may cause the bulb to shatter when it heats up. And please don't cut yourself on the glass lens inside the light fixture - it may not look sharp, but it is.

Free 48 State Delivery

Fed-Ex and UPS Ground

Most shopping cart items ship via Fed-Ex or UPS Ground package delivery service. Package delivery services, unlike a motor freight carrier (see next paragraph), will allow us to file a hidden damage in transit claim for insurance reimbursement, but We are given less than a week to report it. Regardless of how well the exterior of container box appears, you must ALWAYS have the driver note ANY damage to shipping boxes in writing before signing. Then immediately, always take Merchandise completely out of its packaging and inspect ALL of the Merchandise, notifying us immediately should there be ANY hidden damage to Merchandise. Mechanical problems are covered under the manufacturer warranty, but hidden aesthetic damages (cosmetic dings, dents, broken Welds, significant scratches, or popped rivets) you discover than a week after delivery are not reimbursed or replaced by Fed-EX, manufacturer, Kobe, or Not saying that you or your Merchant caused the damage to the unit before or during installation, but that possibility exists when Merchandise is not properly inspected upon arrival. Additionally, any appearance (non-mechanical) flaws found after installation will not be reimbursed or replaced by freight carrier, Fed-EX, manufacturer, Kobe, or Merchandise that has been installed is not eligible for return or replacement by

Motor Freight Shipping

Servel refrigerators, Sun-Mar composters, larger custom shade panels and larger Kobe range hoods ship via motor freight 'common carrier', as noted on the website and receipt. Scheduled deliveries are not possible to arrange, but We automatically email tracking information after shipment, so you can anticipate delivery date.Common carrier motor freight is shipped on a pallet with boxes covered in clear plastic stretch-wrap and is defined as street-side motor freight drop, which differs from small package services like UPS and Fed-Ex, in that the truck driver does not bring Merchandise into your building or onto the porch. Street-side motor freight drop is a basic delivery service, often in a full-size tractor trailer, where driver parks in street while you unload and inspect the Merchandise. Kobe range hoods, shade panels, and Sun-Mar composters are not shipped with lift-gate service. You must unload boxes from the tractor trailer by hand. If you require lift gate service to lower the Kobe range hood down onto the roadway, with what they call a mechanical 'Tommy lift', it is available for an additional $65 to $100 fee. Please arrange and pay for this optional service at time of order. Always check the number of pieces (boxes) present against the stated waybill shipping receipt tally. As with any motor freight shipment from any distributor, be certain to carefully examine ALL of the Merchandise, not just the outside of shipping box(es), before signing and accepting delivery. It is imperative with motor freight shipments that ALL products be unboxed and fully inspected PRIOR to accepting delivery. Regardless of what the delivery driver may say, you MUST inspect fully before signing and accepting the delivery. It is the freight truck driver's job to wait while you open and inspect shipment for damages. Simply looking at the outside of the box(es) is NOT adequate. Damaged Merchandise (that particular box, not all the boxes) must be refused delivery. Once someone signs for shipment, it confirms Merchandise was received free of ANY damage and removes liability from the transportation carrier. We can only assume that damage reported later and not refused delivery, was caused by the Client, and not the freight carrier. Any subsequent attempt to file a claim for loss or damage will NOT be accepted by the transportation carrier, distributor, or Our company,

Returns and Cancellation

All returns, cancellations and/or exchanges must first be authorized in writing by at Client may not ship any Merchandise back until We supply return Merchandise authorization RMA number and address for the shipment. Orders often do not ship back to the same warehouse they shipped from originally. Contact us with invoice number and reason for return or exchange to obtain an RMA number and instructions. No returns, refunds or exchanges will be authorized more than 30 days after original purchase payment date. Design consultation services, DVDs, knit shade material, water tubes, greywater and septic system parts are not returnable for refund or exchange for any reason. Once payment has been made, custom panel orders are cut and enter the production system and cannot be cancelled after payment is made. No return on any remnants or discontinued items. Any authorized returns of Merchandise must be in the original carton, in new unused condition, and returned freight prepaid to Our designated warehouse. Merchandise originally shipped via motor freight carrier on a pallet, may not be returned via package delivery service such as UPS or Fed-Ex. Original actual shipping cost will be deducted from any refund due along with up to 15% restocking fee on the Merchandise. This restocking fee includes the 3% credit card processing on original purchase, which is not refunded by MasterCard or VISA. Please understand that items on Our website are advertised as "Free Shipping", which is to be understood as "there is no extra charge for delivery of PURCHASED Merchandise". UPS, USPS, Fed-Ex and motor freight carriers charge us a fee for delivery of Merchandise, which We must recoup on returns. Kobe, for instance, bills a flat-fee of $40 and $45 for business and residential Fed-Ex shipments and $162 and $186 for motor freight carrier drops. Sun-Mar and Servel units ship via motor freight carrier for anywhere from $120 to $300+ per unit, depending upon zip code and drop site designation. Kobe, Sun-Mar, Clivus Multrum, Quanics, Dometic and Servel returns are manufacturer-direct, drop ship items and may be subject to an additional manufacturer's restocking fee. Discontinued, clearance items are not eligible for return or exchange. If an item is returned without original packaging intact, or is damaged, found to be used, or otherwise not ready for resale, it may be refused and returned to sender at their expense, so always insure shipment.

Lost and Stolen Shipments

Tracking information is emailed following shipment on all orders so client can anticipate delivery date. Custom size shade panels are made-to-order and can take up to ten business days to produce and ship. All other 'stock items' normally ship within three business days. Should you not receive email shipping information, please send a request for tracking number in writing to: Note it can take up to 48 hours for a given tracking number to appear on transportation company website. During this time, shipment status may be listed as "order processed and ready for pickup". Traditionally, this just means the shipment has not yet reached transportation company terminal and scanned after being unloaded from truck that picked those package(s) up. Overdue shipments must be reported to merchant in writing within one week after anticipated delivery date. Cardholder hereby agrees that only two possibilities exist for a shipment that did not arrive as anticipated. Possibility #1) Transportation company shows shipment as still being in-transit. In this case, merchant will file a 'tracer' request on behalf of cardholder with transportation company and they will search for box(es) at all company freight terminals. Cardholder is required to fully cooperate by filling out any forms requested, returning any voice messages left, and replying to any email messages sent by transportation company or merchant. Your patience and consideration is required and greatly appreciated while transportation company attempts to find the shipment. Replacement or refund is authorized solely at merchant discretion. Cardholder is not permitted to cancel order. Cardholder is not permitted to dictate choice of replacement or refund. And cardholder is not permitted to dictate time frame for settlement and ultimate delivery date for merchandise. Possibility #2) Transportation company shows shipment as being delivered. In this case, merchant will file a 'lost shipment' claim on behalf of cardholder with transportation company. A lost shipment claim can take up to two weeks to resolve and unfortunately, the transportation company rarely, if ever, pays the insurance claim. Ideally, we only ship to cardholder, personally, at their residence or business 'home' credit card billing address, but regardless of designated drop site and receiving person and whether or not a signature was required at time of delivery, cardholder is solely responsible for merchandise security after drop is confirmed by transportation company. After transportation company confirms delivery to shipping address, no signature required, there will be no refund or replacement for lost or stolen merchandise for any reason. Cardholder must immediately file a theft report with their local police department for item stolen from property or designated drop site. Cardholder hereby agrees to relinquish any and all right to file a credit card chargeback sales reversal for merchandise lost in transit by transportation company or merchandise reported lost or stolen after delivery is confirmed by transportation company. Should cardholder file a chargeback in violation of this terms of service agreement, cardholder will be held responsible for reimbursement of any and all merchant services processing fees incurred as a result of the frivolous chargeback, which can be anywhere from $35 up to several hundred dollars.

Shade Panel Production

Our commercial grade knitted shadecloth carries a one year manufacturer's replacement warranty against defects in material and workmanship. You can expect at least 5 years of service when installed properly and well over ten years when used seasonally in a temperate climate. Client must inspect shade panels within one week of delivery in order to be able to report any damages. Rips, tears, and aesthetic damage you find more than one week after delivery are not reimbursed or replaced by the freight carrier or Additionally, merchandise that has been installed is not eligible for return or replacement for damage claims. Fabric is knitted polyolefin, primarily high density polyethylene HDPE, specially treated for durability and UV resistance. Wind damage from loose panel whipping, snagging, and abrading against the structure or cable framework is much more harmful in the long run than simple exposure to sunlight. Knit shade material should be installed hung underneath, not pulled across the top of cable or framework, to avoid abrasion and snagging damage. Chemical, fire, heat, abrasion, and snagging damage are not covered under manufacturer warranty. Shade panel warranty inspection returns must be authorized in advance and returned freight prepaid to designated location for visual inspection. will only pay the cost to ship warranty repaired or replaced merchandise back to client after inspection confirms damage was a material or workmanship defect. The following are trade-standard, non-valid reasons for requesting warranty inspection: First, there is no up-down, right-left, top-bottom or front-back reference point for any panel. Panel 'Width and Length' are measured from outside-edge to outside-edge of the sewn perimeter hem at the four corners only. Knit material has inherent tension and flex in the looming process that will resolve aesthetic issues when installed taut with rope lacing. Grommets on one side of panel are unlikely to line up with grommets on the opposite side or from one grommeted pinch pleat to the next. Exact one foot on-center grommet spacing, specific grommeted pinch pleat centering, and special placement on a particular side for grommets is not warranted. Any panel over 12 foot wide may have a noticeable factory knitted loom splice seam without notice in advance since the 20, 26, and 32 foot wide stock roll width fabrics are manufactured on side-by-side looms. We traditionally cover this seam with a grommeted pinch pleat, but it is possible to order plain cloth without a center GPP, per automated quoting form. Aesthetic issues are not warranted. For instance, the White 50% color knitted shade material can sometimes arrive with patches of orange discoloration and spotting as a result of the manufacturing process. This discoloration will dissipate after installation in the sunlight. Shade material may always be slightly wrinkled from rolling onto storage tube or shipping and knit appearance can vary from sample swatches presented and may also vary between various stock widths. Minor aesthetic flaws in knit appearance, stitching, and snags are not a structural panel failure problem and not warranted. Shade material is lockstitch knitted to prevent structural unraveling. Longevity is the same regardless of aesthetic appearance flaws in the fabric knit or perimeter webbing. If need be, one can use needle and thread to pull small flaws together and super-glue sealed. It is not considered a warranty-related defect unless it affects panel performance. Special fire resistant certified shade materials are not available. The finish 'Length' ordered is what we produce by cutting enough fabric to fold hem and GPP. The only time to anticipate deviation in finish dimension purchased is when 'Width' is a stock material width of 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, 26 and 32 foot. Then, finish 'Width' is likely going to be two to three inches less after folding and sewing perimeter hem and any length-wise grommeted pinch pleats. ALL other times, the size panel you request is the finish size we do our very best to produce. Knitted shade netting is inherently difficult to work with due to tension releasing when cut to custom sizes, so trade-standard warranty for free replacement is a four inch tolerance. As measured at four corners, any error of five inches, or more, is warranted for free remake, replacement, or refund at our sole discretion. This accuracy guarantee does not apply to shapes other than rectangles or any panel dimension over 32 foot. Errors of less than five inches are considered for remedy on a case-by-case basis only when the panel has not been installed and can be resold as a new-unused remnant. Installation and Liability

Merchandise purchased from or through must be installed by a licensed professional installer and in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and local/state/federal electrical, plumbing, health and building department regulations. Building department regulation requirements differ from one town to the next and it is the Client's sole responsibility to ensure compliance. This is particularly important with hard-wired electric kitchen appliances and hoods, gas refrigerators, septic systems, greywater projects, and composting toilets. Even shade panel installations can come under local regulatory scrutiny (pull permits) in some parts of the United States. Client understands that shade panels are not rated for any fire resistance and hereby confirms that no fire resistance has been expressed or implied by Seller for Merchandise. Client is solely responsible for purchasing (pulling), and coordinating all of the inspections for all of the necessary electrical, plumbing, grading, road, health and building permits for their project. Some of these services, as requested, can be provided to Our Summit County, Colorado Clients where is a licensed and insured general Contractor (license number 6) and septic system installer (license number 69). is not an architectural nor an engineering firm. We do Our best to consult on your project, but site specific engineering, load calculations, soil viability testing, and/or custom blueprinting are not included in any consultation service or system package We sell.

Art and Data Release

Client does hereby irrevocably consent to and authorize the anonymous use and reproduction by Us, or anyone authorized by Us, of any and all artwork, digital images, or stories submitted via email, phone or fax. Our primary concern is protection of your privacy. We never release Client information to anyone for any reason, so any use would be purely anonymous. We will not pay a fee or provide compensation of any sort, now or hereafter, for information, solicited or otherwise, that We share. Client hereby agrees to allow reproductions to be presented online or in printed format and hereby gives Us unrestricted right and permission to copyright and use, re-use, publish, and republish artwork, stories or digital images submitted without restriction as to changes or reproduction hereof in color or otherwise, made through any and all media now or hereafter known for illustration, art, promotion, advertising, trade, or any other purpose whatsoever. This agreement shall be binding upon Client and their heirs, legal representatives and assigns.

Housing, septic, composting and greywater systems all include free on-going consultation, so We'll take the time to answer your questions and ensure your project is a success. At the very least, We strive to save you money by avoiding costly mistakes, both short and long term. If We don't have an answer to your question right on the spot, We'll take the time to research it further and get back to you. We can consult on the phone, if you wish, but email allows us to much more completely answer your questions with sketches and links to related articles. Keeping everything in writing is a sure way to avoid any confusion with "you said he said" situations later. Our sustainable housing products are low-tech in nature, but their design is typically complicated by the seemingly endless installation variables for unique locations and applications. Fiberglass Water Tubes

Water Tube and Cap ("Item") is manufactured for Client on special order basis by an independent company ("Manufacturer"). Manufacturer's warranty and guarantee, and special terms and conditions of sale and delivery apply to this Item. No warranty or guarantee is provided, expressed, or implied by Merchant, Merchant and Manufacturer do not assume any liability or responsibility for damage in transit. Only the transportation company is responsible for damage in transit. Before signing and receiving Item from transportation company, Client should demand to see packing list from Item shipment. If shipment is short Item (for instance: three caps, not four) or damaged (any Item defects), refuse the goods until the transportation agent notes the shortage or damage in writing on the freight receipt waybill. Always require a copy of the annotated waybill with shortage or damage noted in writing and signed/initialed by driver.Watch for hidden damage and inspect all Items fully before signing and accepting the shipment from a freight carrier. Client signature is testament that Item arrived in the proper amount and in undamaged condition. Hidden damage or shortage (anything found after delivery) is Client's sole responsibility to file claim with transportation company. Merchant and Manufacturer do not assume any responsibility or liability for Item damage during/after installation. Manufacturer guarantees Item is up to its established standard of manufacture as to material and workmanship. In all claims, liability is limited to replacement of the invoice value of any Item claimed to be defective. Client assumes all risk and liability whatsoever resulting from the use of such Item, whether used singly or in combination with other substances. The materials purchased hereunder (Item) shall be examined and tested upon receipt thereof, and before the materials are used and within thirty days from such receipt, Client shall notify Merchant in writing of any claims on account of quality thereof. Failure to so notify Merchant shall constitute a waiver of all claims with respect to Item, and in any event the use of Item by Client shall be deemed to mean satisfactory performance on the Item and Merchant. No claim of any kind (whether as to Item delivered or for non-delivery of Item) shall be greater in amount than the purchase price of Item covered hereby with respect to which any damages are claimed.
